Given the challenging experiences many of our schools and communities have faced in managing the recent rash of bomb threats, TOSS is pleased to host a series of brief meetings where you will have the opportunity to learn more about what is being done to address this problem and review current best practices.  Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Safety, Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and the Department of Education will be on hand.

The meeting will consist of a one-hour presentation by Homeland Security Training Director Brice Allen with approximately 45 minutes being available for questions. The description of this presentation is:

Bomb Threat and Suspicious Package Management

Bomb and suspicious package threats persist as one of the most common threat related problems encountered by any organization.

This 1 hour presentation - intended for schools, is designed to provide options for the organization when faced with a bomb threat and/or a suspicious package at their facility. The program will cover establishing credibility of the threat, response options, search methods and techniques, evacuations, and other threat management choices.

I encourage you to invite your sheriff and/or chief(s) of police to join you (or your designee). Space is limited, but we should have room if you would like to bring your safety director.
